Corvette Super Sports Ð General Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, April 6, 2004

Proceedings

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by President, Greg Glodery.  It was determined that a quorum was present before continuing with the meeting.

The meeting minutes were accepted as submitted in March.  Donna Stewart made a motion to accept and Steve McDaniel seconded the motion.

The President offered his apology for comments he made in the March newsletter that offended a member of our club, Gary Stillwell.  Hopefully, this apology was accepted since Gary was not present at the meeting.

Old Business

1.                  12th Annual GamblerÕs Classic Poker Run in Laughlin.  There were about 562 corvettes from the Western Region at this event.  So it was quite an accomplishment when Corvette Super Sports received the Club Participation Award for 42 members.    Also, Dave Hirstein and Phil Villalovos received trophies for Vendors Choice Awards.  Tom Wilcox, Ron Jobes and Mario Soria received Club Recognition certificates from vendors too.  Hal Oberman received an award for Ôfirst entryÕ (first to send in a check) for this event.  John Rutecki received $500 for having the highest points in the slot machine tournament.  Ed Norris took fourth place for $150.   It was a great weekend!

2.                  March 6th Social Event at La Habra Bowl.  We had another successful social event at La Habra Bowl with a big turnout.  I was there when Ron Jobes bowled six strikes in a row!

3.                  CSS Club Car Show for Saturday, August 21st.  The contract with ElkÕs Lodge has been taken care of along with a deposit of $200 per Ken Vasilik.  The Board discussed in great detail the car show agenda and various sub-committee chairs needed to run this event.  Steve McDaniel, Chairman, needs volunteers to make this event the best one yet.  Please contact the appropriate sub-committee chairs to offer your assistance.  A sign-up sheet will be available at the next meeting.

4.                  StillwellÕs Challenge.  The Board passed the charity club challenge made by Gary Stillwell.  Members can write a check for $20 instead of donating a dollar a week and it will be carried through club books.  Please give your charitable contributions to Treasurer, Ann Meeuwenberg.  Thank you.

5.                  CSS Newsletter in Color.  The Board was asked to consider printing the newsletter in color but it was decided to reconsider at a later date.
