Corvette Super Sports Ð General Meeting Minutes

Proceedings

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by President Greg Glodery.  The general meeting proceeded after it was determined that a quorum was present.

The general meeting minutes were accepted as submitted in August.

Old Business

Greg Glodery expressed his gratitude to all members for making the Third Annual CSS car show a huge success by sponsoring trophies, showing up early on the day of the event, partaking in different roles and staying late to clean up the Lodge and parking lot.

1.      Charity Drive.  Marietta Darke stated the September 25th John Force show was a great turn-out.  She thanked the twelve CSS members who volunteered their time.  Marietta also reminded the club about the CHiPs for Kids event in December.  The deadline to register is November 2 and Channel 2 KCAL will be there.  This is a fun holiday event.

H.I.S. House needs items for their silent auction on November 6.  If you are interested, please see Marietta.

2.      NCCC News.  Ellis Chee was not at tonightÕs meeting so Greg Glodery did the honors by reading a thank you note from Doug Hall of SoCal Corvette for our $100 donation to help him recoup from his medical bills and loss of work.  Doug was very surprised and touched by our clubÕs kind gesture.

3.      Past Events.  CSS Third Annual Car Show Ð Chairman Steve McDaniel reported he received positive feedback from club members as well as the participants.  Some possible improvements for next year are as follows:

a.       Quicker data entry;

b.      Separate locations for raffle ticket sales;

c.       Stay with block style parking;

d.      Should we accept only pre-registrants if we get too large or is this limiting ourselves?

e.       Order more meat since we ran out;

f.        Get a quote from a parking lot sweeper.  Lee Beidleman mentioned he has a large vacuum.  We all agreed that cigarette butt cans were very helpful this year.

g.      ElkÕs Club tow away signs need to be posted.  The guard had to page the Seven-up employees to move their cars.

Steve admitted he was a bit nervous about organizing such an event but this was definitely a ÔgroupÕ effort and he thanked everyone especially Donna Stewart who organized the food service and who also made it possible to have a planning meeting at her residence.  A quote from Steve, ÒSpecial thanks to Bill Darke for his good notes from last year.  Also, special thanks to Greg Glodery for his support and faith in my abilities to chair this special event.  Too many to thank, but everyone did a 110%.  Thank you all!Ó

At the next Board meeting we will fine-tune for next yearÕs CSS annual car show.

New Business

1.                   TreasurerÕs Report.  Ann Meeuwenberg gave the TreasurerÕs report.  In regards to the income vs. expenses for the car show, Ann passed out a preliminary report to the members.  These numbers should be finalized by next monthÕs general meeting.  NCCC and CSS membership dues are now being accepted by Ann and are due by November.

The La Habra 56th Annual Corn Festival ÐJim Schweitzer sent a photograph of the event as it appeared in the Orange County Register on 8/2004 as a special thank you to the seven CSS volunteers.

2.                   Membership Application.  The Board of Directors approved Jim and Elaine CooperÕs and Jim ItalianoÕs membership applications.

3.                   Upcoming Events.  Ken Vasilik provided upcoming events which will be posted on the website as well as flyers provided at the general meeting.

There will be a photo shoot with models on September 13-15 for a National Calendar.  If interested, please see Greg Glodery.

Dave and Ilona Alciatore will host a social event on October 23rd at their new home in Fallbrook and they passed out an invitational flyer this evening.
